The Mazo City Council organizes an afternoon of cinema to raise awareness about gender equality
The Villa de Mazo City Council, through the Department of Equality, organizes the second awareness cinema forum for next Saturday, May 15, in which the film A Second Mother will be screened, which will be followed by a discussion. The session that will begin at 6:00 p.m., in the Andares Culture Center, is framed in the project Love yourself well and you will be right.
The Councilor for Equality, Francisco Javier González, explains that this initiative is part of a coaching program with which the City Council wants to promote Equality and that was launched in March, coinciding with International Women’s Day.
For her part, the mayor of Mazo, Goretti Pérez Corujo, invites residents to continue sharing these leisure moments on Saturdays because “given the good reception it has had and the importance of its content, we have decided to continue giving it continuity.”
The event, free to enter, includes the celebration of a subsequent discussion by the coach Dévora Viña Carrascoso and the film critic Adrián González Viña. Both will use the projected film as a vehicle to address gender equality and other social issues that are addressed in A second mother.
The councilor recalls that due to the health crisis caused by Covid-19, capacity will be limited and the use of a mask and hydrogel will be mandatory, as well as maintaining social distance.
